...Counting my Blessings

I like to watch a show called, "Life's Little Miracles" on the Discovery Health Channel.  "Life's Little Miracles" deals with parents and children coping with critical and non-critical health/medical situations at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children.  Being a mother who has given birth to 4 children, all born with birth defects, I quickly identify with the bewildered and scared, yet strong parents profiled in this series.

While in the hospital for one of Quinn's breathing episodes; after the doctor on staff had been apprised of the medical history of all of my children, she looked at me and said, "My, you've had more than your share of bad things to deal with, haven't you?"  I suppose it does look that way to others but you know, after countless nights spent in ICU's with my children I have had the opportunity to make the acquaintance of many parents and children fighting much tougher battles than my own... and I thank God and count my very many blessings."
