...................................Prayer...................................

We greet you, Immaculate Mother of God!

Accept our prayer and, as Mother, deign to bring the Church in Rome and throughout the world into that fullness of time towards which the universe has been advancing since the day your divine Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ came into the world.

He is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega, the King of the ages, the First-born of all creation, the First and the Last.

In Him all is definitively fulfilled;
in Him, every reality grows to the full stature desired by God in His mysterious plan of love.

We greet you, Virgin most prudent!

We greet you, Mother most clement! Pray for us, intercede for us, Immaculate Virgin, our merciful and powerful Mother, Mary!

Amen.
Pope John Paul II

...Holiday Thoughts

We've had our first snowfall of the season with more expected tomorrow.  It's so very peaceful to look out the back and see the snow blanketing the ground.  The view across the creek is gorgeous with the trees all draped in white.  At night, the white lights from the golf course add to the fairy effect.  Ducks and geese huddle together on our float, conserving warmth.CatholicGraphics.com Thoughts

I'm slowly checking things off of my "to do" list. We had our annual family portrait taken, Christmas cards have been sent, the outside lights and nativity are up and our tree is decorated.  I've almost finished with the inside decorating but I still have a lot of shopping left to do and of course, cookies to bake!

I love cold, snowy evenings.  I like to surf or play on my computer, huddled under my electric throw.   I recently ran across a website, TeachingMom.com.  It's a great Christian homeschooling website with an Advent Calendar, packed full of innovative ideas for the holidays.

We recently purchased one of those freestanding, gel fuel burning fireplaces and I must admit that my favorite place to be on cold evenings is with my husband and/or kids huddled under my down comforter with a good holiday magazine or book, listening to and watching the fire crackle and pop.

Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day of obligation.

Stay warm!
